With Uffizi Touch® you can focus on the smallest details of an image with a resolution up to 140 Megapixels: over 1100 artworks and 662 artists, not only the masterpieces of Italian Renaissance as the Annunciation by Leonardo and the Primavera by Botticelli, but also all the works in the Vasari Corridor and some works of art preserved in the Deposits.
In the iPad version a new function “Visual Tour” has been added: while you’re admiring an artwork or one of its details, the "Visual Tour" suggests you other works related to the same themes (for example, "jewelry", "landscape").
The application has been developed by Centrica in collaboration with the Polo Museale Fiorentino and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities.
The Uffizi Gallery occupies the top floor of the large building erected by Giorgio Vasari between 1560 and 1580 to house the administrative offices of the Tuscan State. Its collection of Primitive and Renaissance paintings comprises several universally acclaimed masterpieces of all time, including works by Giotto, Simone Martini, Piero della Francesca, Fra Angelico, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Mantegna, Correggio, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Michelangelo and Caravaggio. German, Dutch and Flemish masters are also well represented with important works by Dürer, Rembrandt and Rubens.
